This morning I got up quite a bit earlier than usual. I was having some coffee (imagine that!). I was just sitting, thinking, looking out the window at a cloudy rainy day. I love cloudy rainy days, and yes, I know I’m twisted. Anyway, I just started thinking about how blessed I am. As a pastor, husband, dad, friend, son, brother and Christian I have made – and continue to make – so many mistakes. Some of them I ignorantly stumbled into, and some I just stubbornly and pridefully decide to go my own way, knowing what I was doing was wrong. Yep, that’s your pastor.
In the middle of my morning musings I was suddenly overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude and thanksgiving for YOU. I know churches that would have fired me for some of the blunders I have made as your pastor. But not you. Though you have shaken your head in amazement at some of the stuff I have done, you have always loved me. You have confronted me, gotten righteously angry at me, questioned me about my decisions, disciplined me, held me accountable, but in the midst of it all you never stopped loving me. I simply want to say THANK YOU. You are a very special church. By the way, I LOVE YOU TOO.

Thank you pastor for sharing your heart. I make mistakes also, we all do. I love you and millie and will continue praying for you as I know you pray for me.
We must spur each other on. This race is difficult sometimes, I thank God for a leader with a heart like yours. When I came to Whitley I wasn’t looking for a perfect church or a perfect pastor, but I found just what I needed.

No one is exempt from making mistakes. That is the beauty of Christ. No matter the mistakes we made or how stubborn we are; he still loves us. I have been at Whitley for a short time. However, from what I can tell, the church is amazing. God has done many great things and still has many great things in store for us.

Hey Pastor Ferrell, got reminded of your website through the Issachar File article. Saw your blog and made me think how i needed to tell you how thankful we are for WC and The Bridge for your faithful support and prayers. We are so excited about what is happening there and thank God that you are helping us carry the same Gospel through out east Africa. Bless you Pastor and love to the entire church family.
